Great hardware but the app has 2 flaws that make it frustrating to use: it requires "search for devices" every time it's loaded instead of just remembering the device I had connected (which by the way is assigned a static IP + a hostname), and it's locked in landscape mode for some reason which is very awkward to use on a phone.

DBX hasn't updated Win or Android version in years. finally got it to work on a pixel 4a on Android 11. I used a tiny TL-WR902ac router connected only to the DBX. But Android hangs up WIFI unless it sees the internet. So, disable mobile data on the phone. Connect to my tiny router (DHCP is on), but select manual IP, you can't click ok until you type in each IP yourself Android says no internet. Connect anyway and "remember" Android finally left wifi on. Turn mobile data back on.
